During the UK lockdown, most of us — through no fault of our own — suddenly became quite un-busy. Some spent the time building an encyclopedic knowledge of Netflix, others suddenly became expert runners.
One of the things I spent my time doing (as well as becoming a full-on Netflix expert) was studying for an exam that I took last week, and thankfully passed, called Facebook Blueprint.
So, What is Facebook Blueprint?
Facebook blueprint is a vast e-learning platform designed and devised by Facebook; offering courses on all aspects of Facebook and Instagram and how to use their tools effectively.
Some of the content and courses are free. However, there are 7 professional certifications and 1 associate certification you can get as a professional marketer that cost money to enroll on. These certifications delve deeply into the Facebook advertising platform and how to create technical and creative strategies the way massive world-wide brands would.
These certifications are becoming more and more important, and certainly are a standard qualification to have if you are looking to join any reputable marketing agency in the US. The qualification is becoming more and more renowned in the UK too. But as it stands, we’re pretty sure that we are one of the only agencies in Essex to hold this particular certification.
What Certification Did We Achieve?
The certification I managed to achieve was ‘Creative Strategy Professional’. This is described by Facebook as “[Someone who] Recognises advanced comprehension and strategic application of mobile fundamentals on Facebook apps and services.”
What this means is that I now have the knowledge to create a full strategy for clients that will be effective and tailored to their exact needs.
I can build custom audiences that will match the criteria of a client’s target audience. Not only this, I can also use advanced tracking to retarget customers that have visited a website and attract them back to finish a purchase and much more.
What Did the Test Involve?
The test itself wasn’t easy and was definitely an interesting experience. Once booked in, I received an email with an outline of the test rules — and they don’t mess about.
I was told I would be filmed via my webcam the whole way through the test, I couldn’t have anything on my desk; I couldn’t even wear a watch. Before the test began, I had to show the examiner the room I was in via the webcam and also show him the location of my phone, wallet and watch to show that they were out of reach.
The test is timed and you have 105 minutes to complete it. There are 60 questions and the test is marked out of 900 with a 700 pass mark. I managed to achieve 859.
